MESSERSMITH " C -t -i DATE: 4/18/96 <br />KRIEGER & STEWART, INCORPORATED <br />SUBJECT: 1996/1997 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS <br />As requested, we have prepared recommendations for capital improvement projects for 1996/1997. <br />Since we are in the initial stages of preparing the City's 1996 Water Master Plan, our <br />recommendations are based on City staff comments and our review of the existing facilities. As <br />the 1996 Water Master Plan is developed, some or all of the proposed projects could be modified <br />or revised. The recommended 1996/1997 Capital Improvement Projects are as follows: <br />1. Well Pumping Plant <br />Drill and equip one well at the City's existing site southerly of the intersection of La <br />Cadena Drive and La Loma Avenue. Said well would be designed to pump into the <br />Central Zone. The estimated project cost for the plant is $625,000 as shown below: <br />Description Amount <br />Well (16" dia, 1200' deep) $225,000 <br />Well Pumping Plant (2000 gpm, 450 hp pumping unit) $210,000 <br />Sub -total $435,000 <br />Construction Contingency at 20% $87,000 <br />Construction Total $522,000 <br />Administration, Legal, and Engineering Expenses at 20% $104,000 <br />Total $626,000 <br />Project Total (Rounded) $625,000 <br />
