SBPEA, MANAGEMENT/CONFIDENTIAL <br />Section 2, Retirement <br />The City will pay the employees' contribution of 7% (9% for safety personnel) to the Public <br />Employees Retirement System (PERS) and provide retirement benefits as currently specified <br />under the City's contract with PERS. All such contributions shall be deposited in the Member's <br />Retirement Account. <br />The City and Union agree to amend the PERS contract to provide for the 2% at 55 Full and <br />Modified Formulas. This contract amendment shall be implemented no later than January 1, <br />1998, provided that the City has received the actuarial from PERS and pertinent PERS <br />documents. The City is not obligated to pick up the rate increase due to the unfunded actuarial <br />liability costs for this benefit. The City and Union agree to reopen negotiations to discuss this <br />additional cost prior to July 1, 1998. The City further agrees to set aside $7,800, one-time only, <br />to be applied towards the July 1998 rate increase for the unfunded actuarial liability for this <br />benefit. <br />(Delete all language in current section) <br />Section 4, Acting Pay <br />Any employee assigned to work in a higher classification for a period of 80 consecutive work <br />hours or more shall receive compensation from the first day. Regularly, scheduled holidays shall <br />be counted as `work hours" for the purpose of qualifying for acting pay only. All other leaves <br />hours shall not count as "work hours" for the purpose of qualifying for acting pay. <br />The City agrees that represented employees working out of class shall be properly trained prior <br />to out -of -class assignment. <br />Administrative Policy 4.05.170 shall be followed with only the proscribed pay increase and no <br />increase in benefits provided to an employee in acting pay status. <br />Section 5, Longevity Pay <br />Employees who have 3 % years of City service and who have been at `B" Step for two years (5 <br />V2 years minimum) and have received satisfactory performance evaluations for both years at E <br />Step shall receive a one time 2% longevity adjustment. <br />SBPEA, M/C FINAL LANG.doc 2 <br />
