VEGA, FINANCE DIRECTOR <br />SUBJECT: AWARD OF BID FOR MARBELITE STREETLIGHT STANDARDS TO AMERON POLE <br />PRODUCTS, c/o PACIFIC LIGHTING IN THE AMOUNT OF $49,047.80 <br />DATE: MAY 12, 1997 <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Electric Department purchases Marbelite streetlight standards into the Electric Stores inventory on an <br />"as required" basis. When the inventory reaches a predetermined review level they are reordered based <br />on projected usage. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS <br />The predetermined inventory level has been reached, requiring a reorder at this time. Therefore, on April <br />15, 1997, Purchasing posted a Notice Inviting Bids for Marbelite Streetlight standards. Bid opening was <br />held at 3:00 p.m. on April 28, 1997, in the Purchasing office. Two bids were received and evaluated. <br />Attached is bid the Analysis of the quote by each vendor, showing the price and delivery date. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />None <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT <br />Funds are budgeted in the Electric Departments streetlight maintenance expense account number 520- <br />8 -8011-2410-0 96 <br />THOMAS CLARKE, Utility Director <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />None <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends Council award a contract for marbelite streetlight standards to Ameron Pole Products, <br />c/o Pacific Lighting in the amount of $49,047.80. <br />Report prepared by Mary J.
