VEGA, FINANCE DIRECTOR <br />SUBJECT: AWARD A CONTRACT FOR A FIRE DEPARTMENT PARAMEDIC SQUAD TO <br />"WONDRIES FLEET DIVISION" FOR THE AMOUNT OF $51,611.17 <br />DATE: MAY 12, 1997 <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City Council approved funds in the FY 96-97 budget to replace a 1989 paramedic squad that has <br />approximately 89,000 miles. The replacement is due to the continued down time of the vehicle and high <br />maintenance costs. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS <br />Recently the County of Los Angeles solicited bids for a paramedic rescue squad. Therefore, the City of <br />Colton can tag on to the Los Angeles County purchase under the State of California Cooperative <br />Purchase Agreement, Contract 1-97-23-20. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />None <br />The f4fids are availabld in account number 704-7500-7501-4910. <br />HFNDRIX, Acting Fire Chief <br />None <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends the City Council award a contract to "Wondries Fleet Division" for the purchase of a <br />paramedic rescue squad in the amount of $51,611.17. <br />Report prepared by Mary J.
