CITY OF COLTON
AGENDA REPORT
For City Council Meeting of May 20, 1997
DUPLICATE
TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council
FROM: John C. Hutton, Public Works Director
SUBJECT: A Resolution Of The City Council Of The City Of Colton Amending Resolution
No. 2119 Passed And Adopted By The City Council Of The City Of Colton On The
Sixth Day Of December, 1960 To Include Additional No Parking Areas
DATE: May 7, 1997
BACKGROUND:
Resolution No. 2119 lists areas subject to traffic controls.
DISCUSSION:_
The Fire Department recently acquired a new ladder truck. This piece of equipment has a larger turning
radius than other fire apparatus. The Traffic Safety Committee discussed this issue at the May, 7 1997
meeting. The larger turning needs of this vehicle necessitate the creation of an additional no parking area
across the street from the exit to Fire Station No. 1.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
None.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
None.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that Council adopt the attached Resolution, restricting parking along the west side of
10th Street to allow a safer turning area for this piece of fire equipment.
Pagel of 2
Attachments:
Resolution
Item No. 19
