SEPTEMBER 29,1997 <br />BACKGROUND: " There is one (1) vacant Police Officer position in the Police Department. <br />Attached is the job description for the classification; salary range is $2,847 - $3,459 per month. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: Recruitment for said position was conducted and an eligibility list <br />established. The candidate being referred for Council ratification meets the education and <br />experience requirements as specified in the job description. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: Funding availability for this grant funded position, in the fiscal year <br />1997=98 budget funded as follows: Account No. 100-6070-6084-1010 (salary) and Account No. <br />100-6070-60 4-1100 (salaryr ted benefits). <br />Bernar O Lunsf d, Police Chief <br />MISSION CRITICAL: This position is required to maintain effective operations in the Police <br />Department. <br />EXPECTED FILL DATE: October 8, 1997. <br />RECOMMENDATION: That City Council ratify the employee appointment to the full-time <br />position of Police Officer as recommended by the Police Chief <br />Attachment: Job Description <br />Prepared by: Arleen F.
