CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 16, 1997 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR & CITY COUNCIL <br />APPROVAL: LEN WOOD, INTERIM CITY MANAGER <br />FROM: ANNA A. VEGA, FINANCE DIRECTOR <br />SUBJECT: AWARD OF BID FOR MAINTENANCE OF THE CITY'S LANDSCAPE <br />MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO. 1 TO RP LANDSCAPE FOR A TWELVE (12) <br />MONTH CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $87,440.00. <br />DATE: September 8, 1997 <br />BACKGROUND' <br />The City contracts for landscaping services for the City's Landscape Maintenance District No. 1. The <br />current contract with RP LANDSCAPE will expire on September 30, 1997. On August 14, 1997, <br />Purchasing advertised for sealed bids for a twelve- (12) month contract beginning October 1, 1997 and <br />continuing through September 30, 1998. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS <br />Bid opening was, held at 2:30 p.m., September 8, 1997, in the Conference Room at City Hall. Four bids <br />were received and evaluated. The low bid was received from RP Landscape, Inc. of Colton, CA in the <br />amount of $82,440.00 for the twelve- (12) month period. <br />ABid As price inalysis showing the price quoted by each of the four vendors is attached. The recommended <br />underlined. The second lowest bid was received from L. Barrios & Associates, Inc. of <br />San Dimas, In the amount of $118,630. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT <br />The funds are available in the Landscape Maintenance District. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />None <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends the Landscape Maintenance District contract be awarded to RP Landscape in the <br />amount of $82,440.00. In addition a not to exceed amount of $5,000.00 is requested for reimbursable <br />mise. materials which may need to be replaced due to normal wear and tear.
