1401 Veterans Way <br />Colton, CA 92324 <br />(909) 825-2985 <br />e <br />AMERICAN LEGION, COLTON POST 155 <br />The Honorable Mayor, Karl Gaytan AU <br />and distinguished Council Members, <br />City of Colton,Col -ro650 North La p <br />aDrive, <br />Colton, California 92324 y� <br />Thursday August 14, 1997 <br />Dear Mayor and City Council Members, <br />The American Legion, Colton Post 155 who are celebrating our <br />Seventy -Fifth Anniversary serving the City of Colton, the State <br />of California and our nation, request that a Veterans Day parade <br />be held on Veterans Day, November 11, 1997 starting at nine <br />o'clock a.m. at the corners of o Street and La Cadena Drive. <br />and ending at the Thomas J. Fleming Park, to honor all veterans <br />who set aside their civilian pursuits to serve their nation's <br />cause, defending the freedom of man and preserving our precious <br />American heritage. <br />A written request has been filled out by me for the use of the <br />Thomas J. Fleming Park from eight o'clock a.m, till two o'clock <br />P.M. for a Veterans Day ceremony to be held following the parade. <br />These times are approximate. <br />I also request that The American Legionr), Colton Post 155 chair <br />the committee, for the parade and the Veterans Day ceremony <br />and that as many of you who can will participate or attend the <br />parade and ceremony, if it is okayed by you, the Mayor and City <br />Council .Members. <br />I have enclosed a few cards with my name and both the American <br />Legion and my .tome phone numbers, if you have any questions. <br />I look forward in hearing from you about our request, <br />spectfuully, , <br />Steven G.
