FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF AN 8" <br />WATER DISTRIBUTION LINE ON PRIVATE ROAD WEST OF <br />ENCANTO COURT IN THE AMOUNT OF $30,355 <br />DATE: JULY 2011998 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />In 1996 staff recommended that the 8" water main in the private road west of Encanto <br />Court should be replaced. The City selected John Egan and Associates to prepare bid <br />specifications for the project. The project was advertised for open bids in June and <br />July, 1998. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />On July 13, 1998 staff received one bid for the replacement of 14 linear feet of the 8" <br />water main, in the amount of $30,355 from Cornish Construction, Company, Inc. Staff <br />has reviewed the bid and recommends its approval. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />The FY98-99 Water Department's Operations and Maintenance budget has sufficient <br />funds in the Capital Improvements, Water Line Replacement account number 521- <br />8100-8106-3890 for the project. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that Council approve the construction contract award to Cornish <br />Construction Co., Inc. in the amount of $30,355 for the replacement of the 8" water line <br />on the private road west of Encanto Court. <br />Report Prepared By: Lorraine June <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />Item # 8 <br />
