CLARKE, UTILITY DIRECTO ,: O��� <br />SUBJECT: RELINQUISHMENT OF ELECTRIC EASEMENT TO THE <br />PROPERTY OWNERS AT 202 N. MT.VERNON AVENUE <br />DATE: J U LY 16, 1998 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />As a part of the condition of approval, in 1965, an electric easement was required for <br />the commercial development of the property located at the northeast corner of Mt. <br />Vernon Avenue and Valley Blvd. (202 N. Mt. Vernon Avenue). The easement was for <br />electrical infrastructure that was utilized several years ago. ARCO Products Company <br />recently remodeled the existing structure, and the electrical equipment was removed at <br />that time, since it was no longer necessary. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />The City has received a request from the current property owner to relinquish the <br />electric easement. Staff has researched the use of the easement, and has determined <br />that the City has no further use for it. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />None <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that Council approve the relinquishment of the electric easement to <br />the property owners, and authorize the Utility Director to execute the Quitclaim Deed. <br />Report Prepared By: Lorraine June <br />Item # 9 <br />
