I I I I I I <br />hA& <br />March 11-139 1998 — Orlando, FL <br />Who Should Attend: <br />This program is intended for engineers, designers, <br />technicians and first line supervisors who work <br />with Electric Power Distribution Systems. This <br />includes individuals involved with the design, <br />operation, maintenance or construction of Electric <br />Power Distribution Systems., <br />Course Objective: ' <br />Participants will review the objectives of Electric <br />Power Distribution Systems Protection and Oper- <br />ation. This includes reviews of distribution equip- <br />ment and applications; distribution system protec- <br />tion practices and devices; and distribution system <br />voltage profiles and voltage control methods. <br />Upon completion of this course, participants should <br />be able to recognize the need for three phase and <br />single phase protective devices throughout distribu- <br />tion systems, the limits of protection provided by <br />various protective devices and several methods of <br />controlling distribution system voltages. <br />In addition to the course notebook, <br />each participant will receive a free <br />copy of Electrical Distribution - <br />System Protection. <br />About the Course Instructor: ' <br />Donald A. Reimert is a registered Professional <br />Engineer, having graduated from Penn State Uni- <br />versity more than 28 years ago. During his profes- <br />sional career, he has designed transmission and <br />destribution substations and nuclear generating <br />station electrical systems. Mr-Reimert has devel- <br />oped protective relay settings, short circuit stud- <br />ies';and other calculations for each of the devices' <br />that will be discussed in the seminar. <br />He has also developed load flow studies, motor <br />starting calculations, and distribution system volt- <br />age profiles. <br />Mr. Reimert is Director of Studies and Analysis <br />for Sleva Associates, an Electrical Consulting and <br />Training Company. <br />UWM reserves the right to amend the program should cir- <br />cumstances warrant such action. <br />In the event of course cancellation, the University of Wis- <br />consin—Milwaukee will reschedule the course, refund course <br />fees or apply the 'fee payment to any other CCEE course <br />offered in the next twelve months. Liability for course can- <br />cellation is specifically limited to the amount of pre -paid <br />course fees and excludes any incidental or consequential <br />damages. <br />
