ACCOUNT.ANT <br />Page 2 o�f 2 <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />WORKTNG CONDITIONS: <br />Position req�ires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reachin�, twistinJ, turning, kneeling, <br />bendingr squatting, and stooping in the performance of daily activities. The position also <br />requires grasping, repetitive hand movement, and fine coordination in preparing reports using a <br />computer ke� board. Additionally, the position requires near and far vision in reading written <br />reports and work related documents. Acute hearing is required when providing phone and <br />counter serviee. <br />QUALIFICATIONS : <br />Education and/or Experience: <br />Any combination of education and experience that has provided the knowledge, skills and <br />abilities necessary for an Accountant. A typical way of obtaining the required <br />qualifications is to possess the equivalent of three years of directly related experience in <br />accounting, and a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field. <br />License/Certificate: <br />P'ossession of, ar ability to obtain a valid, class C Califomia driver's license. <br />KNO W�.,ED GE/ABILITIES/S KILLS : <br />Knowledge of: <br />General methods and techniques of general and municipal accounting, auditing and <br />finance. <br />Procedures and techniques of payroll preparation and administration. <br />Laws regulating governmental financial reporting. <br />Appli�able Federal, State, and local laws, codes and regulations. <br />Modern office equipment including a computer and applicable softtivare. <br />Methods and techniques for financial report preparation and writing. <br />Methods and techniques for record keeping. <br />Complex principies of mathematics and accounting. <br />Abilitv to: <br />Analyze and interpret payroll accounting records. <br />Prepare financial statements and reports. <br />Courteously respond to organizatianal issues, concerns and needs. <br />Analyze a complex issue and develop and implement an appropriate response. <br />Prepare clear and concise financial reports. <br />To learn and operate financial reporting software. <br />Work independently. <br />Understand and follow instructions.
