CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF JULY 219 1998 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />APPROVAL: Henry Garcia, City Manag <br />FROM: Dennis Morris, Human Resource Director., <br />SUBJECT: Amendment to Resolution #R-44-98, Revising Certain part-time <br />Hourly Rates for FY 98/99 <br />DATE: July 3, 1998 <br />BACKGROUND: The Police Department presently has nine police cadet positions. Seven of <br />these positions are general fund positions and two of these positions are grant funded. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: During the budget workshop which concluded on June 23, 1998, the <br />Police Department submitted a request to increase the hourly pay rate for the position of Police Cadet <br />from the current $5.25 per hour to $6.50 per hour commencing July 1, 1998 with the approval and <br />adoption of the FY 1998/99 budget. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: $11,250 which represents the difference between the current hourly <br />rate and the approved hourly rate. Said financial impact is included in the recently approved budget <br />and will become effective on July 1, 1997, at the beginning of FY 1998/99. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: None. <br />RECOMMENDATION: That the Mayor and City Council approve and adopt the amendment <br />to Resolution #R-44-98 establishing the new hourly rate for police cadets effective with the new fiscal <br />year which commences July 1, 1998. <br />ATTACHMENTS: Amendment to Resolution #R-44-98 attached as "EXMIT" A. <br />REPORT PREPARED BY: Terri Truitt <br />Item # 10 <br />WDATA\AGENDA\AGENDPMDOC <br />
