CITY OF COLTON
AGENDA REPORT
For Council Meeting of July 21, 1998
TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council
APPROVAL: Henry Garcia, City Manage
FROM: John C. Hutton, Public Works Director
SUBJECT: Adopting Resolution Amending Resolution No. 2119
To Include Additional No Parking areas on Rancho
Avenue North and South of Olive Street
DATE: July 13, 1998
BACKGROUND:
Rancho Avenue is a four -lane asphalt roadway. As part of the traffic mitigation
measures of the San Bernardino County Medical Center Project, a new traffic signal
has been installed at the intersection of Rancho Avenue and Olive Street. This
signalization project includes the addition of a left turn lane on both the north and south
legs of this intersection.
DISCUSSION:
This issue was discussed by the Traffic Safety Committee. The addition of these turn
lanes has reduced the through lane widths sufficiently to require the restriction of
parking along both sides of Rancho Avenue.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
None.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that Council adopt the attached resolution authorizing the restriction
of parking of along the East and West sides of Rancho Avenue, for a distance of 430
feet, north and a distance of 430 feet south of Olive Street.
Page _ of _
Item # 15
