CA49 Acting Chief of Police <br />SUBJECT: Request for recruitment and ratification of employee appointment to the full <br />time position of Police Officer in the Police Department <br />DATE: June 24, 1998 <br />BACKGROUND: There is one (1) vacant Police Officer position in the Police Department under the <br />Universal Hiring Grant. Attached is the job description for the classification: salary range is $ 2,961 to <br />$3,598 per month. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: Recruitment for said position will be conducted and an eligibility list <br />established upon Council approval. The candidate chosen will meet the education and experience <br />requirements as specified in the job description. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: Funding availability for this grant funded position, in the fiscal year 1998-99 <br />budget is as follows: Account No. 100-6070-6084-1010 (salary) and Account No. 100-6070-6084-1100 <br />(salary r ted benefits) . <br />Patrick G. AN6We, Acting Chief of Police <br />MISSION CRITICAL: This position is required to maintain the grant fund requirements. <br />EXPECTED FILL DATE: As soon as recruitment is completed. <br />CUSTOMER SERVICE IMPACT: This position is required to fully staff the Patrol Division. <br />RECOMMENDATION: That City Council approve the recruitment and ratification of the <br />employee appointment to the full-time position of Police Officer as recommended by the Acting <br />Police Chief. <br />Attachment: Job description. <br />Prepared by: R.
