CITY OF COLTON <br />POLICE INFORMATION SYSTEMS COORDINATOR <br />Maintain current inventories of hardware and software purchased for or assigned to the Police <br />Department. <br />Write a variety of programs as necessary or directed, such as IQ, Quiz, Informix, Access, SQL and <br />other programs. <br />Authorize and create Police Department user accounts and security privilege on the Police LAN <br />(Local Area Network) system; detect and resolve any unauthorized use. <br />Participate in project and planning meetings pertinent to computer needs; research and understand <br />needs of the users; develop and implement systems to address identified needs. <br />Evaluate assigned work projects; estimate time, materials and equipment necessary for the <br />successful completion of the project; acquire necessary resources as appropriate. <br />Develop schedules and methods for performing assigned duties; maintain appropriate work records <br />and documents including service requests; prepare statistical and/or analytical reports as necessary. <br />Serve as a resource to the Police Department to coordinate information systems activities with other <br />divisions and departments; provide information and resources as necessary. <br />Attend and participate in professional and department meetings as necessary. <br />Stay current on issues and improvements in the field of information technology; implement <br />improvements as appropriate. <br />Perform crime analysis and statistical reporting <br />Perform other related duties as assigned. <br />QUALIFICATIONS <br />Knowledge of: <br />• Current computer related terminology and concepts for research, analysis, <br />implementation and support for micro/mainframe hardware and software. <br />• Principles of inventory documentation and storage for all hardware and software <br />department. <br />• Client server based LAN systems (C.N.A. and/or M.S. Certified Professional, preferred). <br />• Principles and practices of record keeping and inventory. <br />• Operations and standard operating procedures of information technology. <br />• Applicable federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations. <br />• Operational characteristics of computer related standard equipment. <br />• Methods and techniques for basic report preparation and writing. <br />Ability to: <br />• Courteously respond to organizational issues, concerns and needs. <br />• Coordinate the operations and activities of information systems. <br />2 <br />design, <br />for the <br />
