AB 2194 would reauthorize a one -dollar surcharge on DDiatrict 1 nde s vehicle registrations within the South Coast Air Quality Management District to fund a Clean Fuels Program to develop John C. Hutton Distnct 2 new strategies to reduce air pollution. Funding for clean fuels technology research, provided under the Kelly J. Chastain Districi3 current legislation, has allowed AQMD to fund innovative My I. cwk projects through joint ventures with the private sector, resulting Distnct 4, Mayor Pro Tem in dramatic air quality improvements, enhanced economic growth Deirdre H. Bennett better relationships between government and industry. The District and Clean Fuels Program will continue to play a significant role in the future. By the year 2010, the Federal Clean Air Act requires this JamesG Grimsby District 6 area to reach attainment of the federal standard for ozone, and we must obtain additional admission reductions, basically, through use of technology that doesn't even exist today.
