HUTTON, PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR/ <br />SUBJECT: APPROVE AND ADOPT RESOLUTION RESTRICTING PARKING OF <br />COMMERCIAL VEHICLES ON VARIOUS STREETS <br />DATE: SEPTEMBER 17, 1998 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The City has received several complaints from residents regarding large trucks parked upon <br />City streets. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />This issue was reviewed by the Traffic Safety Committee, as the trucks are creating a sight <br />distance problem for the motorists. Prohibiting parking of larges trucks in these areas will allow <br />a safer traffic flow in these areas. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />None. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that Council adopt the attached resolution authorizing restriction of parking <br />commercial vehicles along listed streets. <br />JCH/BB/bjw <br />Attachments: Resolution <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />Item # I I <br />
