CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For the Council Meeting of October 6, 1998 <br />To: Honorable Mayor & City Council <br />Approval: Henry Garcia, City Manag 0 <br />From: Dennis Morris, Human Resource Director d� <br />Subject: Use of Fleming Park & Bandshell by Neighborhood Services <br />Division on October 31, 1998 from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. <br />Date: September 15, 1998 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />This is a City -sponsored event which will benefit the community. "Fright Night at the <br />City of Colton, Halloween Festival" will provide a safe holiday celebration for the City's <br />children, with games, haunted fun, and lots of "tricks or treats." The actual event will <br />take place between the hours of 4:00 and 6:00 p.m. Staff hours will be impacted through <br />donations by the Fire Department, Police Department, Streets and Electric Departments. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />In the 1998-99 fiscal year, $1,000.00 from Account # 100-6200-6202-2301 was budgeted <br />for this purpose; since the event is held on a week -end, staff hours will be impacted, but <br />no overtime will be incurred. <br />CUSTOMER SERVICE IMPACT: <br />By providing the City's children with a fun and safe event for Halloween, the City of <br />Colton will protect them from exposure to dangerous or destructive activities which <br />might be encountered in an unsupervised environment. Expected attendance is 250 <br />adults, 500 children. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends approval of the request by Neighborhood Services Division for the use <br />of Fleming Park & Bandshell on Saturday, October 31, 1998.
