EXHIBIT A <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br />BY AND BETWEEN <br />THE COLTON POLICE OFFICERS ASSOCIATION <br />(RANK AND FILE UNIT) <br />AND <br />THE CITY OF COLTON <br />This document contains a summary of the modifications to the <br />wages, hours and other terms and conditions of employment of Colton <br />Police Officers' Association (the Association) members which have been <br />negotiated pursuant to Government Code Section 3500, et sea. which is <br />generally referred to as the Meyers-:Milleras-Brown Act. These <br />modifications shall be incorporated in a Memorandum of Understanding <br />(MOU) upon the approval of the City Council of the City of Colton and <br />ratification by the Association and will be placed into effect upon <br />the adoption of the necessary ordinances and resolutions by the City <br />Council, if acceptable to them, in accordance with the terms and <br />conditions hereinafter set forth. <br />I. TERM OF AGREEMENT: The agreement will last for a two year <br />period beginning July 1, 1998 and ending midnight June 30, 2000. <br />II. SALARY: The City will provide to all unit employees a base <br />salary increase of 2% retroactive to July 1, 1998. In addition <br />the City will provide a 2% salary increase January, 1999 a 2.75°% <br />salary increase July, 1999 and a 2.75% salary increase January, <br />2000 to all employees in this bargaining unit. <br />III. POST CERTIFICATE PAY: The City agrees to increase <br />compensation for POST certificates (flat rate) compensation by <br />10% effective July, 1999. <br />10/01/98 <br />Exhibits 98 Fire - Police R&F <br />1 <br />
