EXHIBIT A <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br />BY AND BETWEEN <br />THE INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD OF ELECTRICAL WORKERS, LOCAL 47 <br />AND <br />THE CITY OF COLTON <br />This document contains a summary of the modifications to the <br />wages, hours and other terms and conditions of employment of Colton <br />International Brotherhood Of Electrical Workers, local 47 (the <br />Association) members which have been negotiated pursuant to Government <br />Code Section 3500, et sees. which is generally referred to as the <br />Meyers-:Milleras-Brown Act. These modifications shall be incorporated <br />in a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) upon the approval of the City <br />Council of the City of Colton and ratification by the Association and <br />will be placed into effect upon the adoption of the necessary <br />ordinances and resolutions by the City Council, if acceptable to them, <br />in accordance with the terms and conditions hereinafter set forth. <br />1. THE AGREEMENT: The agreement will last for a three-year period <br />beginning July 1, 1996 and ending midnight June 30, 2000. <br />2. COMPENSATION STUDY: <br />a) The City agrees to implement 50% of the compensation study <br />results effective March 1, 1999. (see attachment) <br />b) The City agrees to implement the remaining 50% of the <br />compensation study results effective November 1, 1999. (see <br />attachment) <br />3. CLASSIFICATION STUDY: The City agrees to a classification study for <br />Substation Operation's Supervisor and Substation Test Technician in <br />order to determine the proper "job family" for these <br />classifications. Upon the completion of the study any wage <br />increases will be paid retroactively to March 1, 1999. During the <br />04/12/99 <br />Exhibits 991BEW <br />
