CLARKE, UTILITY DIRECTOR,� <br />SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF EMERGENCY PURCHASE OF A BLOWER FOR THE <br />WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT FROM PEGO SYSTEMS INC. <br />IN THE AMOUNT OF $17,001. <br />DATE: MARCH 29, 1999 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Wastewater Treatment Plant's blower needed to be immediately replaced in order to <br />remain in compliance with the Cease and Desist Order No. 95-36, and the Title 22 Repairs. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />Unless the replacement was made immediately service would have been interrupted. <br />Therefore, the City Manager approved the emergency purchase of the blower. The blower <br />was purchased from Pego Systems Inc., in the amount of $17,001. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />The FY98-99 Wastewater Operations and Maintenance Budget included funds for the <br />replacement of plant equipment, as needed. Sufficient funds were available in the <br />Wastewater Plant Operations Account No. 522-8200-8200-2255. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that Council approve the emergency purchase of a blower from Pego <br />Systems, Inc., in the amount of $17,001. <br />Report Prepared By: Lorraine June <br />Item # 9 <br />
