GARCIA, CITY MANAGER"" <br />LIMAN FINANCE DIRECTOR <br />FROM: AL HOL , <br />SUBJECT: FINAL ACCEPTANCE/NOTICE OF COMPLETION FOR UNDERGROUND STORAGE <br />TANK REMOVAL & REPLACEMENT <br />DATE: JULY 26, 1999 <br />BACKGROUND <br />On November 17, 1998, the City Council awarded a contract to Metro Environmental for the <br />removal of underground storage tanks at the Police Department, Fire Department, Domecq <br />Reservoir, Watwood Booster Station and the Waste Water Treatment Facility. Three of these <br />tanks were replaced with above ground tanks. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS <br />The Contractor completed the work on June 30, 1999, meeting all the requirements of the <br />contract. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />None <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT <br />The bid amount awarded for the project was $113,070. This project was funded in the following <br />accounts: 521-8100-8101-2250,100-6090-6091-3890,522-8200-8200-2255 & 605-8700-8700- <br />3890. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />None <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends final acceptance of the Underground storage tank removal and replacement <br />as 100% complete in the amount of $113,070 and authorization of the execution and recordation <br />of the Notice of Completion. <br />Attachments: Notice of Completion <br />Item #18 <br />Page 1 of I <br />
