Internet Contract <br />July 22, 1999 <br />Page 2 <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />The City can continue to access the Internet through AOL, however, we will continue to have very limited <br />and inefficient E-mail communications with outside parties. The security of the City's computer records <br />will also continue to be somewhat vulnerable. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT <br />The funds are available in the FY 98-99 budget in account 605-6040-6044-4900 in the amount of <br />$40,000. Staff is recommending the Council carry forward the funds to cover the proposed internet <br />services for at least three years and other computer related costs ( i.e. providing adequate connections <br />for remote City locations). <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends the Council award a three-year contract to Pacific Bell for Internet services in the <br />amount of $15,419 the first year and $10,320 for the next two years and carry -forward the funds from last <br />years budget. <br />Report prepared by Mary Milroy, Purchasing Coordinator <br />Attachments: None <br />Page 2 of 2 Item No. <br />
