CLARKE, UTILITY DIRECTOR <br />SUBJECT: ACCEPTANCE OF THE DRILLING OF WELL NO. 26 AS 100% <br />COMPLETE AND AUTHORIZE THE FILING OF THE NOTICE OF <br />COMPLETION <br />DATE: AUGUST 3, 1999 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />At the April 6, 1999 Council meeting, Council awarded the drilling of Well No. 26 <br />contract to Layne Christensen Co., in the amount of $255,773. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />All work has been completed, as per the bid specifications and State Department of <br />Health Services requirements. The contractor has requested final acceptance of the <br />project, and filing of the notice of completion. The design engineer/contract manager <br />concurs with the request. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />The funding for the project has already been approved by Council and encumbered in <br />FY98-99 Water Development --New Wells Account No. 551-8100-8105-3890. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that Council accept the drilling of Well No. 26 as 100% complete <br />and authorize the filing of the notice of completion. <br />Report Prepared By: Lorraine June <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />Item #13 <br />
