PASSPORT ACCEPTANCE FACILITY <br />August 4, 1999 <br />Page 3 <br />The early cut-off time is necessary because the applications, photographs, pertinent documents, <br />along with appropriate checks or money orders, must be assembled, tallied, accounted for and <br />placed in the mail on a daily basis. <br />Colton's City Clerk will notify the Los Angeles Passport of City Council's approval. The agency, in <br />turn, will notify Colton of approval to proceed from the U. S. Passport Service, headquartered in <br />Washington, D. This account will be listed under the City Clerk's <br />Budget. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that City Council endorse the City Clerk's plan to establish a one-stop passport <br />acceptance facility by supporting the letter of submittal to the Department of State, Los Angeles <br />Passport Agency, and approve start-up costs in the approximate amount of $2,522.74. <br />Attachments: (3) <br />
