Page 2 of 2 <br />Agenda Report for February 16, 1999 <br />February 1, 1999 <br />The clarification portion of the request from the State deals with the professional qualifications necessary <br />for membership on the Preservation Commission and to the extent, persons with those qualifications are <br />available in the community. The State requested a list of the current commission members and a <br />statement to the fact "the current membership of the Commission includes the most qualified individuals <br />to the extent available in the community". We propose to include the commission membership <br />information and statement in the transmittal including the revisions and requesting CLG certification. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT <br />The financial impact of amending these two Sections in the Municipal Code is non-existent. <br />REVIEW BY OTHERS <br />The proposed Ordinance authorizing changes to the Municipal Code were reviewed and approved by the <br />City Attorney, and presented to the Historic Preservation Commission at their meeting on February <br />10,1999. The Historic Preservation Commission recommends approval. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Adopt Ordinance No. On" authorizing the wording and staff changes to Chapter 15.40, Historic <br />Preservation, Section 15.40.030, Definitions and Section 15.40.080, Nomination and designation program <br />for historic resources, as delineated on the attachment. <br />Attachment: Ordinance No. 40 <br />City Council Staff Reports Historic Preservation Code 21699.doc <br />
