GARCIA, CITY MANAGEF6,F" <br />FROM: DILU DE ALWIS, ACTING FINANCE DIRECTOR FO <br />SUBJECT: FINAL ACCEPTANCE/NOTICE OF COMPLETION FOR THE REPAIR TO ROADWAY <br />AND REPAIR TO PIPELINE AT JOHN MATICH DRIVE. <br />DATE: JANUARY 11, 1999 <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Utility Department sought bids for the repair to John Matich Drive on September 8, 1998, however no <br />bids were received due to the extreme conditions of the roadway. Utility staff, along with Purchasing staff, <br />sought quotes from two vendors. The bid was awarded to Vance Construction, the low bidder, for the <br />amount of $97,870.00 at the council meeting of October 6, 1998. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS <br />The Contractor completed the work, as specified in the contract, on January 4,1999, meeting all of the <br />requirements of the contract. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />None. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT <br />The bid amount awarded for the project was $97,870.00. The total amount of the project was <br />$168,811.42. This project was funded in account 521-8100-8106-3890. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />None. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />• Staff recommends final acceptance of the Repair of John Matich Drive as 100% complete in the <br />amount of $168,811.42 and authorize the finalizing of a Notice of Completion for this project. <br />• Staff recommends that Council approve the execution and recordation of this document. <br />Report Prepared By: Nicole Mihld, Purchasing Assistant <br />Attachment: Notice of Completion <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />Item # 15 <br />
