Zamunity Development Director <br />SUBJECT: Request for Recruitment and Ratification of Employee Appointment to the <br />Full -Time Position of Building Inspector II in the Community Development <br />Department <br />DATE: July 6, 1999 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />There is one vacant Building Inspector II position in the Community Development Department <br />that was approved by Council during the budget process. Attached is the job description for <br />the classification; the salary range is $2,715 - $3,301 per month. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />Recruitment for said position will be conducted and an eligibility list established upon Council <br />approval. The candidate chosen will meet the education and experience requirements as <br />specified in the job description. The position of Senior Office Specialist (salary range $2,055 - <br />$2,498) is proposed to be eliminated from the department's future budget, offsetting the cost <br />of filling the building inspector position. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />This is a general fund position and is funded for the 1999-2000 fiscal year as follows: Account <br />Number 100-6300-6302-1010 (salary) and Account Number 100-6300-6302-1100 (salary <br />related benefits). <br />Davidtf .
