Colton Municipal Code <br />Chapter 2.60 <br />LIBRARY <br />Sections: <br />2.60.010 <br />Established. <br />2.60.020 <br />Board of trustees—Terms. <br />2.60.030 <br />Meetings. <br />2.60.040 <br />Library fund. <br />Section 2.60.010 Established. <br />Section 2.60.020 Board of trustees—Terms. <br />The public library shall be managed by a board of library trustees consisting of five <br />members appointed by the president of the board by trustees by and with the consent of <br />the board of trustees and shall hold office for three years serving without compensation; <br />provided, however, that the members of the board shall so classify themselves by lot <br />that one of their number go out of office at the end of the current fiscal year; two at the <br />end of one year thereafter and the other two at the end of two years thereafter. (Ord. <br />Section 2.60.030 Meetings. <br />The board of library trustees shall meet at least once a month at such time and <br />places as the said board of library trustees may fix by resolution. A special meeting may <br />be called at any time by three trustees by written notices served upon each member at <br />least three hours before the time specified for the proposed meeting; a majority of the <br />board shall constitute a quorum for the transacting of business. The board of library <br />trustees shall appoint one of their number president, who shall serve for one year and <br />until his successor is appointed, and in his presence shall select a president pro tem. <br />(Ord. 218 § 3, 1906)218 § 2, 1906) A public library is established in the city. (Ord. 218 <br />Section 2.60.040 Library fund. <br />All gifts to the city for library purposes of any kind shall be put into a fund known as <br />the library fund and said fund shall always be controlled and expended by the board of <br />library trustees for the benefit and use of said library.
