I Tony M.Perez, chairperson and commissioner for the City owned
Hermosa Memorial Gardens Cemetery located at 900 North Meridian
Ave. Colton, Ca.
I understand that the cemetery is owned by the City of Colton.
My past and personal experiences with the cemetery, is that the city
is having difficulty maintaining and operating the cemetery to its
potential in a way that will generate the revenue to manage the
cemetery and satisfy the families.
My recommendation to the city council is to endorse a proposal of
a private contractor to manage the cemetery owned by the city of
Colton.
My understanding is that the city owns 15 acres of undeveloped
property. Making some sections of the property a double depth
internment space will double the property value which would
increase the revenue sales double space availability
I'have read all the proposals, and have come to conclusion, that
the city would benefit from an outside contractor to manage the
cemetery for the benefit of the city and the citizens of Colton.
