Garcia, City Manage <br />FROM: Patrick G. r w , Chief of Police <br />SUBJECT: Request for recruitment and ratification of employee appointment to the <br />part-time position of Police Stenographer in the Police Department <br />DATE: April 20, 1999 <br />BACKGROUND: There is one (1) vacant Police Stenographer position in the Police Department. <br />Attached is the job description for the classification: Salary $12.00 per hour. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: Recruitment for said position will be conducted and an eligibility list <br />established upon Council approval. The candidate chosen will meet the education and experience <br />requirements as specified in the job description. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: Funding availability for general position in the fiscal year 1998/99 budget is <br />as follows: Account No. 100-6070-6080-1040 (salaries -temporary) <br />Patrick G. Cro , hief of Police <br />MISSION CRITICAL: This position is required to complete reports for timely submission to the <br />District Attorney and allied agencies. <br />EXPECTED FILL DATE: As soon as recruitment is completed. <br />CUSTOMER SERVICE IMPACT: This position is required to successfully staff police records, <br />services. <br />RECOMMENDATION: That City Council approve the recruitment and ratification of the <br />employee appointment to the part-time position of Police Stenographer as recommended by the <br />Police Chief. <br />Attachment: Job description. <br />Prepared by: R.
