Cro of Police <br />SUBJECT: Request for recruit nent and ratification of employee appointment to the <br />full time position of Police Dispatcher I in the Police Department <br />DATE: April 27, 1999 <br />BACKGROUND: There is one (1) vacant Police Dispatcher I position in the Police Department. <br />Attached is the job description for the classification: salary range is $ $1,818.00 to 2,209.00 per <br />month. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: Recruitment for said position will be conducted and an eligibility list <br />established upon Council approval. The candidate chosen will meet the education and experience <br />requirements as specified in the job description. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: Funding availability for this general fund position, in the fiscal year 1998/99 <br />budget is as follows: Account No. 100-6070-6080-1010 (salary) and Account No. 100-6070-6080- <br />1100 (sXary related benefits). <br />Patrick G. Crdwe, Chief of Police <br />MISSION CRITICAL: This position is required to maintain the staffing levels of the emergency <br />dispatch center of the police department. <br />EXPECTED FILL DATE: As soon as recruitment is completed. <br />CUSTOMER SERVICE IMPACT: This position is required to successfully staff police emergency <br />dispatch services. <br />RECOMMENDATION: That City Council approve the recruitment and ratification of the <br />employee appointment to the full-time position of Police Dispatcher I as recommended by the Police <br />Chief. <br />Attachment: Job description. <br />Prepared by: R.
