C , Chief of Police SUBJECT: Request for recruitment and ratification of employee appointment to the full time position of Code Enforcement Officer in the Police Department DATE: October 20, 1999 BACKGROUND: There is one (1) vacant Code Enforcement Officer position in the Police Department. Attached is the job description for the classification: salary range is $2,714.00 to $3,300.00 DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: Recruitment for said position will be conducted and an eligibility list established upon Council approval. The candidate chosen will meet the education and experience requirements as specified in the job description. FINANCIAL IMPACT: Funding availability for this general fund position, in the fiscal year 1999/2000 budget is as follows: Account No. 100-6070-6075-1010 (salary) and Account No. 100- 6070-6 5-1100 /= ted benefits). Patrick G. Cro e, Chief of Police MISSION CRITICAL: This position is required to maintain the staffing levels of the Code Enforcement Division of the police department. EXPECTED FILL DATE: As soon as recruitment is completed. CUSTOMER SERVICE IMPACT: This position is required to successfully staff the Code Enforcement Division. RECOMMENDATION: That City Council approve the recruitment and ratification of the employee appointment to the full-time position of Code Enforcement Officer as recommended by the Police Chief.
