CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For City Council Meeting of November 2, 1999 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR & CITY COUNCIL <br />APPROVAL: Henry T. G , City Manage <br />FROM: Patrick . C , Chief of Police <br />SUBJECT: Request for recruitment and ratification of employee appointment to the <br />full time position of Code Enforcement Officer in the Police Department <br />DATE: October 20, 1999 <br />BACKGROUND: There is one (1) vacant Code Enforcement Officer position in the Police <br />Department. Attached is the job description for the classification: salary range is $2,714.00 to <br />$3,300.00 <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: Recruitment for said position will be conducted and an eligibility list <br />established upon Council approval. The candidate chosen will meet the education and experience <br />requirements as specified in the job description. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: Funding availability for this general fund position, in the fiscal year <br />1999/2000 budget is as follows: Account No. 100-6070-6075-1010 (salary) and Account No. 100- <br />6070-6 5-1100 /= ted benefits). <br />Patrick G. Cro e, Chief of Police <br />MISSION CRITICAL: This position is required to maintain the staffing levels of the Code <br />Enforcement Division of the police department. <br />EXPECTED FILL DATE: As soon as recruitment is completed. <br />CUSTOMER SERVICE IMPACT: This position is required to successfully staff the Code <br />Enforcement Division. <br />RECOMMENDATION: That City Council approve the recruitment and ratification of the <br />employee appointment to the full-time position of Code Enforcement Officer as recommended by the <br />Police Chief. <br />Attachment: Job description. <br />Prepared by: B.
