WARD <br />STRATEGIC CLAIMS SOLUTIONS <br />April 27, 2000 <br />Mr. and Mrs. James Hamilton <br />23335 Westwood Street <br />Grand Terrace, CA 92313 <br />RE: James and Ruby Hamilton vs. The City of Colton <br />Date of Loss: February 1, 2000 <br />Dear Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton: <br />Our investigation into the circumstances surrounding the claim you recently presented to the City <br />has been completed. <br />As we recently discussed, the City of Colton contracted with Hemet Manufacturing, DBA Genesis <br />Construction Company, to replace water and sewer lines in the City. They apparently used your <br />vacant lot located at 188 East Laurel without your permission, and as a result of that activity your <br />property was damaged. <br />During our conversation, I advised you that the City is not responsible and will reject your claim, and <br />that you should pursue Genesis Construction Company. <br />Please find a complete copy of the contract between the City of Colton and Hemet Manufacturing <br />Company, Inc., DBA Genesis Construction Company. The City of Colton is an additional named <br />insured on the contractor's policy.
