Barrera, City Clerk <br />Item #16 <br />SUBJECT: Approval of a Resolution Requesting the Board of Supervisors of the <br />County of San Bernardino to Render Specified Services Relating to the <br />Conduct of a Special Municipal Election of March 5, 2002 <br />DATE: October 29, 2001 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />At the Council Meeting of October 16, 2001, City Council called for a Special Election to fill the <br />vacancy in District 1. The Special Municipal Election is to be consolidated with the March <br />Primary on Tuesday, March 5, 2002 to fill the unexpired term of the elected position of city <br />councilmember District 1. <br />ANALYSIS/DISCUSSION: <br />City Council approved Resolution R-120-01 calling for the election. The resolution requested <br />services of the County of San Bernardino, Registrar of Voters to consolidate the Special <br />Election with the March Primary of March 5, 2002. A subsequent resolution is needed to request <br />the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Bernardino to render specified services related to <br />the Special Election of March 5, 2002. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />None. <br />FISCAL IMPACT: <br />The tentative amount of $2,000 to $3,000 will be encumbered from Account No. 100-6010- <br />6010-2401, for Fiscal Year 2001-2002. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Adopt Resolution requesting the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Bernardino to <br />render specified services related to the conduct of a Special Municipal Election on Tuesday, <br />March 5, 2002. <br />Attachment: Resolution <br />
