CITY OF COLTON AGENDA REPORT FOR THE COUNCIL MEETING OF, NOVEMBER 6, 2001 TO: HON. MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL FROM: Carolina P. Barrera, City Clerk Item #16 SUBJECT: Approval of a Resolution Requesting the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Bernardino to Render Specified Services Relating to the Conduct of a Special Municipal Election of March 5, 2002 DATE: October 29, 2001 BACKGROUND: At the Council Meeting of October 16, 2001, City Council called for a Special Election to fill the vacancy in District 1. The Special Municipal Election is to be consolidated with the March Primary on Tuesday, March 5, 2002 to fill the unexpired term of the elected position of city councilmember District 1. ANALYSIS/DISCUSSION: City Council approved Resolution R-120-01 calling for the election. The resolution requested services of the County of San Bernardino, Registrar of Voters to consolidate the Special Election with the March Primary of March 5, 2002. A subsequent resolution is needed to request the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Bernardino to render specified services related to the Special Election of March 5, 2002. ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: None. FISCAL IMPACT: The tentative amount of $2,000 to $3,000 will be encumbered from Account No. 100-6010- 6010-2401, for Fiscal Year 2001-2002. RECOMMENDATION: Adopt Resolution requesting the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Bernardino to render specified services related to the conduct of a Special Municipal Election on Tuesday, March 5, 2002.
