For the City Council Meeting of October 2 2001 <br />SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF RESIDENTIAL COMPACT FLUORESCENT LIGHTING REBATE PROGRAM, AND EXECUTE A <br />CONTRACT WITH ECOS CONSULTING TO IMPLEMENT THE PROGRAM <br />opportunity to participate in a valuable program that most other California utilities provide and <br />that many customers have requested. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />The budget for the lighting program would be as follows: <br />ECOS Labor $ 22,699 <br />ECOS Direct Expenses 5,450 <br />Coupon Redemption and Processing 21.800 ( based on 2,400 coupons redeemed) <br />Total $ 49,749 <br />Funding is available in the Public Utilities Public Benefit Residential Account #520-8000-8035- <br />3890-0107-0 <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />None. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the Mayor to implement a Residential <br />Compact Fluorescent Lighting Rebate Program and to approve a professional services <br />agreement with ECOS Consulting in an estimated amount not to exceed $28,149 and an <br />additional amount allocated for customer rebates not to exceed $21,600, all funded with Public <br />Benefit funds. <br />Report Prepared by: Gerald Katz, Senior Energy Services Specialist <br />Attachment(s): Professional Services Agreement from ECOS Consulting. <br />[EW TEAM ONLY <br />Attorney:ajj2L2ce Raonit4 Finance Director: <br />Manager: OTHER: <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />
