Item #15 <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR CITY COUNCIL MEETING OCTOBER 02, 2001 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />,�/ <br />FROM: Dilu de Alwis, Finance Director !� <br />Joanne Knowles, Risk Manager <br />SUBJECT: Approval of Resolution amending the Independent Cities Risk <br />Management Authority Joint Powers Agreement <br />DATE: September 19, 2001 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The City of Colton is a member of the Independent Cities Risk Management Authority <br />("ICRMA"), a joint powers authority, established pursuant to the provisions of Section 6500 et seq. <br />of the California Government Code. ICRMA provides risk management programs of insurance for <br />its members to protect them from unexpected losses and insurance and other services, including <br />risk management, loss prevention, claims adjustment, insurance brokerage, legal, and other services <br />as related to its purpose. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />On June 20, 2001, ICRMA's Governing Board approved the admittance of the City of Palm <br />Springs to membership into the ICRMA, and also approved changes to the Joint Powers <br />Agreement. To formalize the admittance, a resolution has been prepared by ICRMA's General <br />Counsel which will amend the Joint Powers Agreement to admit the City Of Palm Springs. A copy <br />of the Resolution showing the changes is attached. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />None <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />None <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff respectfully requests that the City Council adopt the attached Resolution approving the City of <br />Palm Spring's admittance to membership into the Independent Cities Risk Management Authority <br />(ICRMA). <br />
