1 2 3 4 5 b 7 8 9 r 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 ORDINANCE NO. 0-16-01 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA ADDING SECTION 2.04.030 TO CHAPTER 2.04 OF THE COLTON MUNICIPAL CODE CONCERNING LOCAL GIFT LIMITATIONS AND DISCLOSURE REQUIREMENTS THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: Section 2.04.030 is hereby added to Chapter 2.04 of the Colton Municipal Code to read as follows: "2.04.040 Gift Limitations and Disclosure Requirements. A. Notwithstanding the provisions of the Political Reform Act to the contrary, no member of the city council shall solicit or accept a gift or gifts, or a promise for a gift or gifts, aggregating $200.00 or more in value from any individual or single source, either directly or through an intermediary, within one calendar year. To this end, therefore, the gift prohibition limit provided for in the Political Reform Act shall be $200 for members of the city council. All other provisions of the Political Reform Act shall remain unchanged and are incorporated herein by reference. B. The agenda for every meeting of the city council shall include a section listing all parties and participants involved in any proceeding concerning a license, permit, contract or other entitlement that is on the agenda for that meeting. C. Prior to rendering a decision in any proceeding involving a license, permit, contract or other entitlement pending before the city council, any council member who has received been promised a gift or gifts aggregating $50.00 or more in value within the preceding twelve months from a party or participant in the proceeding shall disclose that fact either orally or in writing during open session.
