FINANCIAL IMPACT:
These positions were authorized by the approved amended Fiscal Year 2002/2003 budget. Since
the City now has an ambitious CIP Program (approximate $30 million). The two requested
positions plus portions of existing staff costs can be charged to the CIP, resulting in General
Fund operating savings. In addition, Measure I and other non -General Fund revenues can be
used to help offset these costs. These two positions will exist so long as there are Capital
Improvement Project funds available and that there will be no impact to the general fund.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
This action does not have an environmental impact.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the recruitment and ratification of the job description for
Engineering Assistant and Associate Engineer, as recommended by the City Engineer.
Prepared by: A.
