Clarke, Electric Utility Director—(o <br />SUBJECT: Award of Bid for Marbelite Streetlight Standards to Lingo Industrial Electronics in the <br />Amount of $55,968.58 <br />DATE: November 25, 2002 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Electric Department purchases Marbelite streetlight standards into the Electric Stores Inventory for <br />use by the Electric Department on an "as required" basis. When the inventory reaches a predetermined <br />review level, the streetlight standards are reordered based on projected usage as determined by the City's <br />Electrical Systems Engineer. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS : <br />On November 4, 2002, the Utility Department posted a Notice Inviting Bid for Marbelite Streetlight <br />Standards. Bid packages were mailed to five vendors of streetlight poles. Bid opening was held at the <br />Corporate Yard on November 19, 2002, at 2:30 P.M. Two bids were received and evaluated. A Bid <br />Analysis is attached showing the prices and delivery quoted by each vendor.. <br />ALTERNATIVES: <br />None <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />The Marbelite streetlight standards are purchased into Electric Stores inventory account number <br />520-1500-154.
