I�em #'7 a <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF MAY 7, 2002 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CTTY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br />FROM: AMER JAKHF.I� P.E., CITY ENGINEER ��S� <br />gUgJECi'; APPROVE TEIE AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR ARCHITECTURAL <br />DESIGN SERVICES FOR TF� BIG LEAGUE DREAMS SPORT PARK <br />TO PURKISS-ROSE-RSI IN TE� AMOLINT OF $381,325.00. <br />DATE: APRIL. 22, 2002 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Big I.,eague Dreams Sports Complex is a 16-acre pazk project, consisting of three replica baseball <br />stadiums, one multi-sport pavilion, fow sand volleyball courts, one skateboazd arena, one stadium <br />club/concessionaire, two tot lots and a 300 stall parking lot. This project is located eastedy of Meridian <br />and northerly of Valley Blvd. (See aztached Fachibit "A", a copy of the site plan.) <br />On August 21, 2001, the City Council approved agreements with Big Iza�ue Dreams for constnrction <br />and management of a community sports pazk. As part of the Design Developmeat for this project, <br />Professional Arctritectural Services would be required. On April 17, 2002 a Request for Proposal was <br />sc,mt out to Architectural Firms. Staff received formal proposals from (2) two of the Architectural <br />Firms: <br />Purkiss-rose-rsi from Fullerton, Califomia <br />Hirsch & Associates from Anaheim, Califomia <br />The scope of work consists of (SZphases of work: <br />Phase I — Project Layout <br />Phase II— Schematic Site Plan Design <br />Phase III — Construction Documents <br />Phase IV — Bid Administration <br />Phase V— Consttvction Observation and Administration <br />(Ses attached Fxhibit "B", a copy ofthe proposal from Purkiss-rose-rsi). <br />ANALYSIS/DISCUSSION: <br />Staff has evaluated proposals and has determine that Purkiss—rose—rsi, of Fullerton, Califomie best <br />meets the qualifications for this work, in accordance with applicable law. <br />
