Item #7 <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR THE COUNCIL MEETING OF OCTOBER 15, 2002 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: Thomas Hendrix, Fire Chief <br />— <br />SUBJECT: Request for recruitment and ratification of employee appointment <br />to the full time position of Firefighter Medic in the Fire Department <br />DATE: October 7, 2002 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />There is one anticipated vacant Firefighter Medic position in the Fire Department. <br />Attached is the job description of the classification; the salary range is $3,791-$4,608 per <br />month. <br />ANALYSIS/DISCUSSION: <br />Recruitment for said position will be conducted and an eligibility list established upon <br />Council approval. The candidate chosen will meet the education and experience <br />requirements as specified in the job description. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />None. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds for the position have been budgeted in the 2002-03 Fiscal Year from Account <br />Number 100-6090-6091-1010 (Salaries) and 100-6090-6091-1100 (Salary Related <br />Benefits). <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that the City Council approve the request for recruitment and <br />ratification of employee appointment to the full-time position of Firefighter Medic in the <br />Fire Department. <br />REVIEW TEAMNLY <br />City Attorney: <br />City Manager: <br />Finance Director: <br />
