Delgado, Human Resources Manager ,�/ <br />SUBJECT: Approval of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOLn Between the City of <br />Colton and the Electric Unit <br />DATE: August 27, 2002 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The two-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Electric Unit expired on June 30, <br />2002. Representatives of the City and IBEW (the Electric Unit) have been negotiating for a <br />successor MOU since May. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: After the necessary meetings, the City's negotiating team and <br />IBEW (the Electric Unit) have reached an accord on a three-year contract that will ternunate on <br />June 30, 2005. The successor MOU has been incorporated into a comprehensive document, <br />known as the "Consolidated MOU" and is presented for your review as E�ibit "A" of [he <br />proposed Resolution. A Suimnary of Changes has been provided to assist you in the review of <br />the consolidated Memorandum of Understanding. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />IBEW salary costs, including a one-time boot allowance for 21 employees, have been calculated <br />as follows: Ammual First Year, a total of $145,541; Annual Second Year, a total of $146,663; <br />and, Annual Third Year, a total of $151,063 <br />ENVIROMENTAL IMPACT: <br />This item does not carry environmental impact. <br />oa/z�/os <br />agd Rpt MOU Electric Unit <br />
