Item #7
CITY OF COLTON
AGENDA REPORT
FOR THE COUNCIL MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 17, 2002
TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS
FROM: AMER JAKHER, P.E., CITY ENGINEER
SUBJECT: ACCEPTANCE OF PROPERTY FROM FHJ GENERAL
PARTNERSHIP PERSUANT TO PARKLAND EXCHANGE
AGREEMENT
DATE: AUGUST 27, 2002
BACKGROUND:
FHJ General Partnership/Cutting Edge Supply Company and the City of Colton entered into an
agreement in April of 2001, a copy of that agreement has been attached for reference. The purpose
of that agreement is to exchange properties located on the west side of Veteran's Park north of
Congress Street (Assessor's Parcel Numbers 163-221-07 and 163-221-15). This exchange of
property requires the reconfiguration of the existing lot lines.
ANALYSIS/DISCUSSION:
The reconfiguration of the FHJ properties was accomplished by the preparation and recordation of
Parcel Map No. 15848. The next step in this process is to exchange deeds transferring property
between the parties of that agreement.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
There is no financial impact.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
This action does not have an environmental impact.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that Council accept the property from FHJ General Partnership and authorize the
recordation of the attached Grant Deed granting title from FHJ Partnership to the City of Colton,
and authorize the Mayor of the City of Colton to sign the attached Grant Deed granting title from
the City of Colton to FHJ Partnership.
Attachments:
Parkland Exchange Agreement
Grant Deed from FHJ Partnership to the City of Colton
Grant Deed from the City of Colton to FHJ Partnership
Prepared by: Brian Baden, Engineering Tech R
G:\AGENDA REPORTS\091702\brenner deed rpt.doc
