Exhibit A <br />EXECUTIVE <br />ACTING PAY <br />Any employee assigned to work in a higher classification for a period of 39 consecutive work <br />hours or more, shall receive compensation from the first hour at equal step of the pay range of <br />the acting position or 5%, whichever is higher. Regularly, scheduled holidays shall be counted <br />as "work hours" for the purpose of qualifying for acting pay only. All other leaves hours shall <br />not count as "work hours" for the purpose of qualifying for acting pay. Administrative Policy <br />4.05.170 shall be followed with only the proscribed pay increase and no increase in benefits <br />provided to an employee in acting pay status. <br />Acting appointments shall be made based on the needs of the city. Appointees shall meet the <br />minimum qualifications for the position whenever possible. If they do not, it will be clearly <br />noted on their Personnel Action Form (PAR) that their acting appointment does not <br />automatically qualify them for any future recruitment. to fill such position on a regular basis. <br />Eligible employees' experience and job knowledge shall be given major consideration before an <br />appointment is made. <br />RETIREMENT (Non -Safety) <br />The 2.7% @ 55 PERS retirement applies to elected officials only where permitted by law. The <br />city will pay 4% of the employee's contribution of 8% to the Public Employees' Retirement <br />System (PERS) for "Miscellaneous" members of the unit and provide retirement benefits as <br />currently specified under the city's contract with PERS. For the Police Chief and Fire Chief <br />(full-time), the city will pay the full 9% employee contribution. All such contributions shall be <br />deposited in the individual members' retirement account. Miscellaneous Executive unit <br />members will pay for benefit as follows: <br />a. 1% effective January 01, 2003 <br />b. additional 1.5% July 01, 2003 <br />c. additional 1.5% July 01, 2004 <br />RETIREE MEDICAL <br />Effective October 1, 2003, members who retire, with either a service or disability retirement, <br />from city employment may, at the retiree's discretion, continue enrollment in the city <br />provided health insurance plan of the employee's choice. Employees, who retire, shall be <br />eligible for city -paid medical insurance coverage until Medicare age. After the employee <br />reaches Medicare age, the employee can maintain health insurance with the city by paying <br />for his/her premium and any related spouse. or dependent* premiums. If the retiree is <br />ineligible for Medicare benefits, the city will continue to pay the premiums, as long as the <br />employee remains insurable. The retired employee is responsible for any portion of the <br />health care premium (including any applicable spouse or dependent coverage) not covered by <br />this formula.
