PROCEDURES FOR ADDRESSING CITY COUNCIL <br />For the Official Record, it is requested that you obtain a card from the City Clerk and complete it by noting a specific <br />item number on the Agenda, if applicable, or you can identify the subject that you wish to address under the Public <br />comment portion of the Agenda. The City Council encourages public input on all City issues within the Rules of <br />Decorum: <br />DECORUM AND ORDER <br />To help conduct the business of the City Council in an orderly fashion, the City Council has adopted rules <br />to Decorum and Order. The Cit Council will strictl enforce these rules in order to allow full expression of <br />.. _ _ �+off , r m„ai rnunsel. The rules are summarized below: <br />Unauthorized remarks from the audience, stamping of feet, whistling, clapping, yelling, and similar <br />demonstrations shall NOT be permitted by the Presiding Officer. Any disrupting demonstrations shall be <br />cause for the Chief of Police upon the Mayor's request to clear all people from the Council Chambers or to <br />remove individual offenders upon direction of the Presiding Officer. <br />Any person who verbally attacks other individuals, groups, or City Officials, or otherwise becomes <br />boisterous while addressing the Council, or while attending the Council Meeting, may be ruled out of order <br />by the Presiding Officer and may be asked to leave the meeting if such behavior is deemed to be disruptive <br />to the orderly conduct of the meeting. If someone begins to make impertinent or slanderous remarks, the <br />Presiding Officer (or the City Manager or City Attorney at the direction of the Presiding Officer) may request <br />that the person follow the Council Rules of civil conduct. <br />NOTICE TO PUBLIC <br />Staff reports or other written documentation relating to each item refereed to, on the Agenda, are on file in the Office <br />of the City Clerk and are available for public inspection. Any person having questions concerning any item on the <br />Agenda may call the City Clerk at 370-5032; to make inquiry concerning the nature of the item described on the <br />Agenda. The City Clerk shall direct inquiries to the appropriate office. <br />All matters listed under CONSENT CALENDAR are considered by the City Council to be routine and will all be <br />enacted by one motion in the form listed below. There will be no separate discussion of these items prior to the time <br />the City Council votes on the motion to adopt unless Members of the Council, Staff or the Public request specific <br />items be discussed and/or removed from the CONSENT CALENDAR for separate action. <br />In compliance with the American with Disabilities Act, if you need special assistance to participate in a City Meeting, <br />please contact the City Clerk's Office at 909-370-5135.
