EXHIBIT "A" <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES <br />Under the terms of this Agreement, Colton shall provide to Grand Terrace 24-hour access to Animal <br />Control services, as follows: <br />Colton shall provide field services by an on -duty Animal Control Officer seven (7) days a week, <br />excluding holidays, during the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Calls for animal control services <br />considered to be routine and to be handled within a 24-hour time frame include: <br />Confined strays <br />Dead animals <br />Stray dogs running at -large <br />Humane investigations <br />Low risk bite case quarantine <br />Rabies quarantine release <br />Trapped cats <br />Wildlife in human dwellings (not including rodents or insects) <br />Miscellaneous calls such as pet shop investigations, sanitation complaints, license checks, <br />for -fee pick-ups, courtesy pick-ups, nuisance animal complaints, etc. <br />From 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. and on holidays, Colton will provide on-call response to emergency <br />calls for animal control services. Such emergency on-call services shall include responding to calls <br />regarding injured stray animals, sick stray animals, Agency assists, stray vicious dogs, loose <br />livestock if a threat to public safety and wildlife threatening public safety. <br />Grand Terrace will be required to contract with the City of San Bernardino for animal shelter <br />services at Grand Terrace's sole cost and expense. <br />In the conduct of the Services for this Agreement, Colton will perform the following specific <br />functions: <br />(1) Enforce all provisions of the Grand Terrace Municipal Code pertaining to animals, including <br />issuing warning notices or citations as necessary. Colton will provide to Grand Terrace <br />copies of warning notices and citations issued. Grand Terrace will be responsible for <br />processing all issued citations, including filing citations with the San Bernardino County <br />Superior Court. Grand Terrace will retain all citation revenues. Colton's Animal Control <br />personnel will appear in court, as necessary, on animal related cases when requested to do so <br />by Grand Terrace and at the expense of Grand Terrace. <br />(2) Remove dead animals from the public right-of-way, except interstate freeways. <br />RVPUBWGS\655567 A-1 <br />
