Authorize Release of Request for Proposal/Qualifications Document
June 3, 2003
Page 2
I_111114.1,1f_1%Ikyj4'
The City of Colton has basically two options at this stage. The first is to delay the investigative
portion of this process, which would merely lessen the time available for staff to research the
various options available. The second is to continue with the process as planned so that both
cities have ample time to think through their options.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The RFP/Q is being released as part of investigative process to determine the best CIS option
for Colton. No fiscal impact is directly linked to the release of the RFP/Q. The RFP/Q process
will be used to help determine what the most viable solutions would be for Colton. Future fiscal
impacts will be significant. It is anticipated that cost estimates and fiscal timing will be known by
late August or early /September 2003.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
None.
It is recommended that the City Council authorize staff, on behalf of the City of Colton, to
release the joint Azusa/Colton Customer Information System Request for Proposal /
Qualifications (CIS RFP/Q) document and to solicit proposals from qualified information system
vendors.
REVIEW TEAM ONLY City Attorney:f f `cti tll W lL Finance Director: bi
City Manager: OTHER:
