Item #10 <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF MARCH 4,200 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council Members <br />FROM: Ron Kenny, Director of Parks, Recreation & Family Services <br />SUBJECT: Adopt Resolution to Increase Budget for Elizabeth Davis Park Project. <br />DATE: February 19. 2003 <br />BACKGROUND <br />On December 18, 2001 the City Council approved the plans and specifications for the construction of the <br />Elizabeth Davis Park restrooms. This project was to be funded by Proposition 12 funds. <br />DISCUSSION/ ANALYSIS <br />Proposition 12 (Safe Neighborhood Parks, Clean Water, Clean Air and Coastal Protection Bond Act of 2000) <br />funds were designated to the Elizabeth Davis Park rest room project. On December 18, 2001 the City Council <br />approved the plans and specifications, and on February 18, 2003 awarded a construction contract to Terra -Cal <br />Construction Inc. <br />None of the two staff reports relating to this project included a resolution, requesting authorization for the <br />setting up of a budget line item for this project. Without this authorization, staff cannot legally expend <br />Proposition 12 funds. <br />ALTERNATIVE <br />None <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT <br />The funding for this project is from Proposition 12 funds awarded to the City of Colton. There is no General <br />Fund impact for this project. Per the December 18, 2001 staff report, if the project cost exceeds $430,000 <br />(Proposition 12 award), funding will be drawn from the City's Park Development Fund. Prior to any such draw, <br />staff will bring before the City Council, a request to appropriate any additional funding. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />None <br />Staff recommends the approval of Resolution authorizing the increase of the budget for fiscal year 2002/03 in <br />Acct. # 248-6950-6955-3890 by $430,000 (Proposition 12 award amount). <br />REVIEW TEAM ONLY o' <br />City Attorney: `/�, Finance Director l <br />City Manager`! -� C /ioiL�— OTHER: - -- <br />
